Seth

A cruel tyrant, in whose heart exists only malice and envy - this is how the Egyptian god Seth appears in most myths.

In fact, Osiris's brother served for many centuries as the noble protector of the god Ra. Alas, Seth's good deeds faded long ago against his greater deed - his bloody war with his brother for the throne of Egypt.

Seth is the youngest child of the sky Goddess Nut and the earth God Geb.

Together with his great-grandfather Ra Seth traveled through the territory of the underworld, protecting the sun God from the monster Apop.

Soon, Seth's heart was seized with envy towards his brother Osiris, who began to rule over the Egypt.

Realizing that the pharaoh cannot be slayed in an honest duel, the God of fury developed an insidious plan.

By the order of Seth, the great masters created a chest that surpasses all known treasures in beauty and perfectly matches all the Osiris's body parameters.

At a celebration in honor of Osiris's birthday, Seth invited everyone around to try on the chest. He proclaimed that he would give this treasure to those who fit the chest in size. Osiris doubted and declined this offer, but in the end he also tried on the box. Taking advantage of the situation, Seth locked his brother and threw him far into the sea.

Egypt was left without a pharaoh.

Goddess Isis, frightened for the fate of her unborn son, fled from the palace. So Seth began to rule Egypt.

Later, when the body of Osiris was found and he himself descended to Duat, and Horus, his son, become a man, an almost century-old conflict began between the hawk-headed god and Seth, as a result of which Horus regained his father's throne, and Seth was exiled for his actions in the desert.

Today, Seth, the god of the red lands and bloody fury, doesn't have many followers. However, according to tradition, everyone who wants to turn to him with a prayer must offer him bloody meat, wine and garnets.
