Mani

Mani (Isl. Máni - “month”) - in Scandinavian mythology, personification of the moon and its phazes. Brother of shiny lady Sunna (Goddess of the sun), son of Mundilfari.

He adopted two earthly children - a little girl, named Bil and a strong brave boy, Hyuki (possibly they are a personifications of the spots on the moon).  Mani can control the course of stars, and, according to the Edda, Mani will be eated alive by a wolf on the Ragnarok's day.

Mani is often described as "not like his furious sister": he is quiet, dreamy and thoughtful. There was a belief in the North, that says that sometimes Mani goes out of his way to take care of those who live on the Earth (especially the people of Midgard).  One of the main myths associated with Mani tells about how he saved two children, Bil and Hyuki from their real parents, and transferred children to Asgard as his own.  Mani has no wife, as far as we know, only a messenger - the giantess Nott (Night), riding on a black horse.

Mani has a soft, compassionate heart, and he is always ready to help those in need, especially children. He is often asked to protect our little ones, family and our olders.

In addition, Mani is the god of chronology, mathematics and other fields of science and activity related to counting and numbers.

He enjoys special honor among the dark alves (elves) and dwarves for his merciful, soft heart and beauty.

There were no especial prayings to him, so you can just tell Mani about your problems and pain, and he will heal you by an endless love in his pure heart.
