Pentacle and Pentagram
What is the difference between them?
Pentacle is any magic symbol including also a pentagram which is a classical five-pointed star. There exist pentacles of Solomon, pentacles of the Celtic and Slavonic traditions and so on.
On the altar of any modern witch, pentacle is represented by a round flat tabula (not always made of wood) with an image of symbols necessary for certain work.
A pentacle functions as an energy concentrator for the altar when it is necessary to consecrate a soon-to-be artefact, candles, offerings for gods, etc. It is a pentacle what aims the most part of its concentration, so, your artefact (some thing you have to bless, charge or clean) will absorb the energy right from a pentacle during your magic practice, if you put this thing on it. It is convenient, isn't it?
It was chosen to picture two great ravens of Odin the Allfather, Huginn and Munin, on this pentacle. Their names are interpreted exactly as "that who thinks" and "that who remembers".
Some occasions happen in life when you've got lack of information - like silence in runes and from the Universe. With the help of this pentacle you can call for the spirit of Huginn and Muninn, the great ravens of Odin, who are his eyes and ears. They know and remember everything. You need only to address to them and you will be able to get such a necessary information.
This pentacle was made of oak, it is compact and can fit in any altar - its diameter is only 12 cm.
