This handcrafted wooden figurine portrays Freya, a central and complex deity within Norse mythology. Known as a goddess of love, beauty, fertility, war, and seiðr (magic), Freya is a Vanir goddess who is also a formidable warrior and a mistress of destiny. She is the leader of the Valkyries and presides over her hall, Fólkvangr, where she receives half of the warriors slain in battle.
