This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.

This handcrafted wooden figurine majestically portrays Lug, a preeminent and multifaceted deity in Celtic mythology, particularly revered in Irish lore. Known as a god of light, sun, storms, and a master of all arts and crafts, Lug is often depicted as a youthful and strong warrior-king, embodying skill, leadership, and brilliance. His widespread veneration is evident in the festivals of Lughnasadh, celebrated in his honor. This meticulously carved wooden piece brings a powerful and illuminating presence, making it a captivating addition to a personal collection, a striking decorative accent for a home, or a commanding focal point on an altar.

In this depiction, Lug is set against the radiant backdrop of the sun, directly symbolizing his association with light, warmth, and divine brilliance. In his hand, he prominently holds a spear, his most famous weapon, often referred to as Areadbhair or the Spear of Lugh. This spear symbolizes his formidable warrior spirit, his precision, and his role as a protector who defends against chaos and injustice. The intricate details of his portrayal capture the essence of Lug’s divine attributes, representing his unmatched skill in various crafts, his strength in battle, and his innate leadership qualities, truly embodying the powerful and versatile nature of this Celtic deity.

Special Note: As each figurine is handcrafted from natural wood, subtle variations in wood grain and minor details may occur, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind. I ordered the Lugh and Morrigan statues on 30 June, and have not received them just yet. However, I expect it is because of the effects of all the covid stuff in the world. Based on the Dagda statue I received, I am sure the quality and detail of the next two will be equally superb. If your order is delayed like mine, the patience you keep will be well worth it.
