Seth, Egyptian god of desert for pagan home altar. Natural wood figurine.

Material: Natural wood

Width: 8 cm (3.1”)
Depth: 4 cm (1.6”)
Finish: Protective lacquer with antique patina
Handmade: Yes, carved by hand in Ukraine

This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.

This handcrafted wooden figurine powerfully depicts Set (also known as Seth, Sutekh, or Suty), the ancient Egyptian god of chaos, deserts, storms, disorder, and war. A complex and often controversial deity, Set played a pivotal role in the Osiris myth as his antagonist, yet he was also revered as a protector god, particularly against foreign enemies and the serpent Apophis. He embodies the wild, untamed forces of nature and the necessary disruption that can lead to new order. This meticulously carved wooden piece brings a formidable and enigmatic presence, making it a captivating addition to a personal collection, a striking decorative accent for a home, or a profound focal point on an altar.

In this portrayal, Set is represented with his unique, enigmatic head, often described as a composite creature (the "Set animal"), symbolizing his fierce, unpredictable, and untamed nature, distinct from other Egyptian deities. The intricate details capture his formidable presence, as he is adorned with traditional Egyptian attire. In his hands, he holds an ankh, the ancient Egyptian symbol of life, and a was-scepter, signifying power, dominion, and authority. This statue embodies Set’s complex nature as both a destructive force essential for balance and a powerful protector, reflecting his multifaceted role in Egyptian cosmology

Hieroglyphic Inscriptions:

The side panels of this figurine feature authentic hieroglyphic inscriptions, which translate to:

Hail to you Sutekh
Lord of power and strength
He with light red skin and red hair
Brother to Wsir (Osiris)
Protector of Ra from Apep
Great power at the tip of the barque
Lord of the storm
And the foreign lands beloved of Sutekh

These phrases highlight Set's key roles, epithets, and attributes in ancient Egyptian mythology.

Special Note: As each figurine is handcrafted from natural wood, subtle variations in wood grain and minor details may occur, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind. Articolo di ottima qualità! Il legno è fantastico e trasmette un senso di segreto ed ammirazione, assolutamente apprezzato!

The quality of this is amazing; I got this for someone and they absolutely love it.

Second figurine I've purchased, and I'm going to be repeating myself, because they're just so consistently high quality. Wonderful attention to detail, no rough work, it looks great. I think what I like best is how creative the figures are. They're clearly identifiable as who they're supposed to be, but done in a much more realistic and naturalistic style than reproduction of ancient statuettes.

Absolutely wonderful art! Shipped in a very timely manner, well-packed. Awesome quality of the work from both technical and artistic point of views! Love it!

Amazing! Shipped faster than predicted and arrived on time! Beautiful artwork, and I beleive the hieroglyphics are even legitimate too! So much effort and skill put into these, HIGHLY recommend. Dua Set!

Absolutely gorgeous. Beyond expectations. It was a gift for a friend for their Birthday and it arrived in time and they Really adored it. Thanks for all the care and skill employed to craft it.

Egyptian God Seth, Wooden statue, for home Altar

The details of this Set (Seth) piece are pristine from every angle! It's truly a work of art. I'll treasure this piece for many years to come.

My order shipped much faster than predicted, which was a wonderful surprise.

This was a gift. My fiancé loved it! Quick arrival! Thanks!!

It feels strange, to purchase a depiction of an Egyptian god from Ukraine, and yet... of all the Set sculptures I've seen, this is my favourite by far. I love the material, I love the style, and I love how dog-like the face looks (as I personally get huge doggo vibes from Set)...
This is one beautiful piece, and I'll cherish it forever!

This was a beautiful piece that was well crafted and well packaged.

Fantastic craftsmanship. Well worth the wait.

My husband was in absolute awe. Perfect gift for him, and amazing talent!

This is an achingly beautiful altar piece for Seth. The carving is at once intricate, beautiful and evocative. Seth was carefully protected and shipped. When I have a proper photo of the carving I will update this review, but frankly even a good photo can't do this justice. Only a true *craftsman* could have manifested something this exquisite. He has also been genuine and friendly in our online interactions, which just adds to this store's magic. I can't recommend him highly enough!!

Exactly what I was looking for. Solid craftsmanship and it made the perfect gift.
