Skadi Goddess: Handcrafted Wooden Figurine

• Material: Natural ash wood
• Height: 20.5 cm (8.1 inches)
• Width: 8 cm (3.1 inches)
• Depth: 4 cm (1.6 inches)
• Handmade in Ukraine
• Suitable for wall hanging or shelf display

This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.

This handcrafted wooden figurine powerfully depicts Skaði, the formidable jötunn (giantess) in Norse mythology, revered as a goddess of winter, mountains, hunting, skiing, and justice. Known for her fierce independence and strong will, Skaði is a deity who prefers the cold, rugged wilderness of the mountains to the warmer realms. This meticulously carved wooden piece embodies her majestic and untamed spirit, making it a compelling addition to a personal collection, a striking decorative accent for a home, or a commanding focal point for those drawn to the wilder aspects of Norse myth.

In this depiction, Skaði is shown clad in fluffy fur and armor, a combination that underscores her dual nature as a formidable huntress and a powerful, regal figure of the winter landscape. She holds a bow in her hands, poised for the hunt, her quintessential attribute, symbolizing her prowess as a skilled archer and her dominion over the untamed wilds. Beside her stands a loyal wolf, an animal deeply connected to the wilderness and often associated with hunting and resilience, further emphasizing her untamed nature and her comfort in the harsh, remote environments. Behind her, skis are visible, her preferred mode of travel across snowy landscapes, highlighting her agility and mastery of the mountainous terrain. These attributes collectively capture Skaði's fierce independence, her commanding presence, and her profound connection to the raw, beautiful power of winter and the mountains.

The feelings I get when I look at this statue are the same ones I get when I work with Skadi. It’s as if she’s working directly with the artist to create her exact likeness. I feel that with everything I’ve purchased from this shop. No other place on the planet I’d rather get my altar statues from.

Beautiful work! I now have two of them

Beautiful, excellent quality. Some other statues I have seen from her in my opinion are less accurate to how she looks like from the lore and historical sources. This looks exactly like Skadi appears to me: a northern native woman with long black hair, and wearing an animal skin coat.
One thing to be aware of. There might be extra shipping fees outside de EU zone.

Despite the war in Ukraine, these wonderful people still managed to create and send this exquisite statue to me, all the way in the Netherlands.

The quality is superb. Skadi is one of my favourite goddesses, and these folks have done her proud.

I hope I'll be able to order much more splendid items in the future! I wish all of you all the best the universe has to offer! <3
