Persephone is the daughter of Demeter and the queen of the underworld in Greek mythology. Her story is deeply connected with the cycle of the seasons, descent and return, grief and renewal, innocence and sovereignty. Through her time between the world above and the realm below, Persephone became a powerful symbol of transformation, inner strength, and rebirth.
Her traditional symbols include pomegranates, flowers, grain, torches, and underworld imagery. In Hellenic polytheism and modern pagan practice, Persephone is often honored as a goddess of transition, shadow work, feminine power, spring renewal, and the sacred balance between light and darkness.
