Greek God Hades: Handcrafted Wooden Figurine

Depth: 4 cm (1.6”)
Finish: Protective lacquer with antique patina
Handmade: Yes, carved by hand in Ukraine

This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.

This handcrafted wooden figurine powerfully depicts Hades, the revered Greek God who presides over the Underworld and the realm of the dead. As one of the Olympian elder gods and brother to Zeus and Poseidon, Hades is a somber yet just ruler, often associated with wealth due to the precious metals found beneath the earth. He is a guardian of souls and maintains the balance of life and death, rarely leaving his dark dominion. This meticulously carved wooden piece brings an imposing and regal presence, making it a significant addition to a personal collection, a striking decorative accent for a home, or a profound focal point for those drawn to the mysteries of the afterlife.

In this portrayal, Hades stands with his quintessential weapon, a bident, in one hand, symbolizing his authority and power over the infernal regions, distinct from Poseidon's trident or Zeus's thunderbolt. With his other hand, he holds his fearsome three-headed dog, Cerberus, on a leash. Cerberus is the vigilant guardian of the Underworld gates, ensuring that the dead remain within and the living do not trespass. This loyal, monstrous hound embodies vigilance, protection, and the formidable nature of Hades's realm. These attributes collectively capture the imposing and regal essence of Hades, highlighting his unwavering dominion over the dead and his crucial role in the cosmic order.
