This handcrafted wooden figurine depicts Baldr, a revered deity within Norse mythology. Baldr is widely recognized as the God of Light, Purity, Beauty, and Reconciliation. He is a son of Odin and Frigg, known for his inherent goodness and the universal love he inspired among all beings. His tragic death is a pivotal event in the mythological cycle leading to Ragnarök. This meticulously carved wooden piece can serve as a thoughtful addition to a personal collection, a decorative accent for a home, or a focal point on an altar.
In this powerful depiction, Baldr stands tall, holding a shield adorned with the sun. This attribute is profoundly significant, as Baldr himself is a radiant deity, embodying light, purity, and beauty. The sun on his shield not only symbolizes his role as the bringer of illumination but also reflects his bright and benevolent nature, which endeared him to all gods and mortals. His purity was such that no evil could touch him, and his light was said to brighten all around him.
Special Note: As each figurine is handcrafted from natural wood, subtle variations in wood grain and minor details may occur, making your piece truly one-of-a-kind. If this item is not immediately available in stock, please allow up to 7 days for your order to be created and dispatched. Please note that shipping time will be additional to the creation period.
