This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.
This handcrafted wooden bust powerfully depicts Hel, the Norse Goddess who presides over the realm of Niflheim, a part of the underworld. Daughter of Loki, Hel is a formidable and impartial ruler of the dead who do not die in battle. Her unique appearance embodies the stark duality of life and death.
This bust portrays the goddess with a crown dramatically crowned with a skull, symbolizing her ultimate dominion over the deceased and her regal status within her shadowy realm. Her face is traditionally depicted as half-deceased, a striking representation of her dual nature—one side living, the other pale and decaying, symbolizing the balance between life and death. The entire statuette is intricately adorned with traditional Scandinavian patterns, enhancing its authentic Norse aesthetic and celebrating the rich cultural heritage. This wooden bust captures the somber yet powerful essence of Hel, making it a profound addition to your home or sacred altar.
