Aphrodite is one of the most revered goddesses of Greek mythology, embodying love, beauty, desire, fertility, and harmony. Born from the sea foam according to ancient legend, she became a symbol of attraction, inspiration, and the life-giving forces of nature.
This statue combines several of Aphrodite’s most recognizable symbols. The seashell and sea foam beneath her feet reference her legendary birth from the sea. The golden apple represents beauty, desire, and the famous Judgment of Paris. Doves appear beside the goddess as sacred companions associated with love, peace, and devotion. Roses decorating the arch and base symbolize romance, passion, and affection. Above Aphrodite stands Cupid, emphasizing the goddess’s connection to attraction, emotional bonds, and matters of the heart. The natural ash wood finish highlights the fine carving details and gives the sculpture a lighter appearance that showcases the beauty of the wood grain itself.
