This wooden figurine is designed with a flat back and features a special loop/hook, allowing it to be easily mounted on a wall.
This handcrafted wooden figurine intricately depicts Ullr, a significant yet somewhat enigmatic deity in Norse mythology, strongly associated with winter, hunting, archery, and shields. Son of Sif and stepson of Thor, Ullr is revered for his exceptional skills on skis and with a bow, often invoked for success in hunting or duels. His presence embodies resilience and a deep connection to the wild, frozen landscapes. This meticulously carved wooden piece brings a powerful and serene presence, making it a compelling addition to a personal collection, a striking decorative accent for a home, or a meaningful focal point for those who admire skill and endurance.
In this portrayal, Ullr is shown characteristically holding a bow and skis, his primary attributes. The bow symbolizes his unparalleled mastery of archery, making him an unerring shot, while the skis represent his swiftness and adeptness in traversing snowy terrains, often described as gliding over the ice. Ullr is recognized as one of the few gods prophesied to survive Ragnarök, a detail that emphasizes his unique resilience and the enduring spirit of winter and the wilderness that he embodies. These attributes collectively highlight Ullr's prowess, his vital role in the pantheon of Norse deities, and his connection to survival and skill in harsh environments.
